The Wonders Way

The "Wonders Way" is our core principle that guides our company's decisions and actions.

INTRODUCTION

Since beginning work on Wonders of The First on September 15, 2022, we have fostered a thriving ecosystem built on trust, integrity, and a shared pursuit of adventure. This document outlines the core principles that guide our ethos and key commitments to our growing community.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to create the most coveted collectible card game products of the 21st century.

OUR PILLARS

The following core pillars form the foundation of our operations and guide our strategic decisions:

  • Dual Commitment to Gameplay and Collectibility: Ensuring engaging gameplay and collectibility are always prioritized.
  • Fearlessness: Challenging fear at every decision point, balancing boldness with common sense.
  • Community First: Putting our community's long-term interests first, with transparency and excitement as guiding principles.
  • Kindness and Inclusivity: Creating a welcoming environment where respect and kindness are paramount.
  • Fairness: Promoting equal opportunities where success is based on skill and merit.
  • Long-Term Success Over Short-Term Profits: Prioritizing sustainable growth and integrity over immediate gains.

OUR PRINCIPLES

ARTICLE 1: THE GAME IS OUR HEARTBEAT

The Wonders ecosystem thrives because of its game. We challenge game design norms to excite and engage players while keeping gameplay accessible to all.

ARTICLE 2: SUSTAINABLE NO REPRINT PROMISE

We promise not to reprint cards after their print window closes, preserving collectibility and integrity. Limited exceptions include serialized, alternate art versions of 1,000 cards or fewer.

ARTICLE 3: ATTENTION TO ALL LAYERS OF THE CCG HOBBY

We commit to excellence across all layers of the CCG experience, including:

  • Gameplay
  • Metagame development
  • Deckbuilding and format rules
  • Protecting collectors and their collections
  • Community building and events

ARTICLE 4: CONTINUOUS LEARNING & IMPROVEMENT

We embrace a culture of learning, seeking feedback to refine our game and practices. Mistakes are owned, learned from, and used to improve.
